Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Social conscience is a driving force behind Signature Group.
We believe that successful businesses have a responsibility to give back to the communities that support them.
It's not just a choice; it's our Signature.
Through our collaborations with organisations like the British Asian Trust and the Prince's Trust, we're not only investing in our own growth but also in the development of future leaders. We give back by sharing knowledge, providing mentorship, and opening doors to opportunities.
Our commitment to giving back extends beyond the boardroom. Signature Group is leading the way in more personal corporate and social responsibility by encouraging our colleagues to take time in the year to address those social or charitable areas which matter to them; to take time away from the office, fully-paid, to both make an impact on their local community or in an area which they otherwise support, and to take home with them the deep satisfaction of changing things for the better.
At Signature Group, our culture isn't just about us; it's about the positive mark we leave on the world. We're proud that giving back is a part of our Signature, and we invite you to join us in this meaningful journey of making a difference.
Team Volunteering Day
Not only is a CSR day an opportunity to give something back to the wider community, but it’s a chance for some non-work fun, to learn new skills and bond as a team. We allow people to choose something they will enjoy and are passionate about - the choice is theirs.
In August, the Central team all got stuck in at Millington's Magical Barn, where they spent the day mucking out stables and chopping veg for the animals!
Lucy from the Central Services team said: “I really enjoyed the day and loved meeting all the animals, especially seeing all the new progress that has been made since last year thanks to all the donations. It was great to be able to work together as a team to help out with the Millington’s daily routine.”
Giving Back to the Community
Earlier this summer, a team from the Group walked from Lytham St Annes to Blackpool in aid of Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone and the Christie hospital in Manchester.
Since Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone’s (BDYZ) conception, young people have played an active part in its development. Their stated aim is to provide opportunities for supportive adults to build positive relationships with young people.
Volunteers are at the heart of what BDYZ do, giving Signature the opportunity to give time and resource. Our organisational philosophies are strongly aligned in the belief that it is important that young people have access to positive adult role models of all ages and backgrounds, bringing young people and the wider populace closer together.
Meanwhile, a Group team also took on Tough Mudder at Heaton Park Manchester, with a dislocated shoulder before we were even at the start line! The team was split into three groups and then ran (or jogged!) through 10k over, under and through 22 obstacles. Through water, mud, barbed wire and electrocution, the team were in good spirits even through the pain.
Our guys smashed a pair of tough challenges and made it to the finish, raising significant sums for partner charities.
Our Emerging Managers Programme
The 2023 Emerging Managers training programme launched at the start of this year, led by Sarina Issap, Chief of Staff. The first workshop left participants inspired, with speakers drawing from their extensive experience to provide forward-looking insights and practical strategies for excelling in managerial roles.
Albert from our Innovations department, said; "The emerging Managers course surpassed my expectations. Sarina and Pierson were really engaging, and the content was highly relevant. The interactive elements enhanced the learning experience and provided clear strategies to help in my career. I’m really excited to be part of this."
Signature Group's Emerging Managers course exemplifies Signature Group’s dedication to nurturing talent and fostering professional growth.
